Data sources
The places you can review in Food Loot come from open datasets. This page credits them.
Your reviews, photos and lists are your own and are not part of any of these datasets. If a place's details are wrong, see Support — fixing it at the source improves every map that uses the data.
Worldwide
- OpenStreetMap — place data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
- Overture Maps — places from the Overture Maps Foundation, under the Community Data License Agreement – Permissive 2.0, with data from its contributing sources; administrative boundaries from Overture's divisions dataset, derived from OpenStreetMap (ODbL).
- Microsoft Azure Maps — a small number of places that the open datasets do not list yet, © Microsoft and its data providers, held for at most six months.
France
- Sirene — the register of businesses and establishments, © INSEE, under the Licence Ouverte / Open Licence 2.0.
- Alim'confiance — results of food-safety inspections, © Ministère de l'Agriculture et de la Souveraineté alimentaire (DGAL), under the Licence Ouverte / Open Licence 2.0.
Australia
- New South Wales liquor licences — © State of New South Wales (Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport) 2026, under CC BY 4.0.
- Victorian liquor licences by location — Liquor Control Victoria, under CC BY 4.0.
- Brisbane food safety permits and Eat Safe ratings — © Brisbane City Council 2026, under CC BY 4.0.
- Tasmanian liquor licences — © State of Tasmania, theLIST, under CC BY 3.0 AU.
- G-NAF — addresses placed using G-NAF © Geoscape Australia, licensed by the Commonwealth of Australia under the Open Geo-coded National Address File (G-NAF) End User Licence Agreement.
A licence or permit in these registers tells us a business may trade at an address. It is not a review or an endorsement, and a place without an Eat Safe rating is unrated, not poorly rated.
