Terms of Use

Last updated: July 9, 2026

These terms govern your use of Food Loot (the "Service"): the Food Loot mobile application and the website www.foodloot.app. By using the Service you agree to them.

1. What the Service is

Food Loot lets you discover restaurants, cafés and bars, write personal reviews with photos, and keep lists of places. The Service is provided free of charge. It is published by a private individual based in France (see the Privacy Policy for contact details).

2. Your account

An account is optional; it exists to sync your content across your devices. You agree to provide accurate information when creating one and to keep your credentials to yourself. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. To delete your account, write to contact@foodloot.app.

3. Your content

The reviews, photos, and lists you create remain yours. When you sync them, you grant us the technical license needed to operate the Service: storing your content and making it available to you on your devices. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.

You are responsible for what you post. Don't submit content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights (including photographing people without their consent), or that is deliberately misleading.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

5. Place data

Information about restaurants and other venues comes from open datasets — © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) and the Overture Maps Foundation. This data is provided as-is: opening hours, addresses, and even a place's existence can be out of date. Always double-check before crossing town for a meal.

6. Availability and warranty

The Service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We work to keep it fast and available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation, and features may change or be discontinued. Keep your own copies of photos you care about: your originals stay on your device, and the Service is not a backup product.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under French law.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves; the date of the latest update appears at the top of this page. Material changes will be signposted in the app or on this website. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably falls under the jurisdiction of the French courts.

10. Contact
